Yo-Ho-SNOW!

JD - Hi everyone! It's been VERY cold and snowy here in the You-Kay! Even our beach walkies have been a chilly affair!

FH does insist on wearing daft things on her head claiming that it keeps her warm! Here we all are mid-walkies on a rather snowy beach.

Max - Mind you, we LOVE the snow! It's so much fun to frolic in - and it's wonderfully refreshing to nibble on too!

We pose next to some snowy rocks - Max was rather proud of his ear standing to attention in this shot!

JD - The only thing we don't like is the ice balls that form on our paws when we go out - sometimes we end up looking like we're wearing moonboots!

Can you tell which pup had just been sampling the snow in this shot?!

Max - Mind you, one of the BEST things about the chilly weather is getting warm and snugly again after our walkies!!

Cosy and warm again - snow is tiring stuff you know!

JD - We hope all you pups out there are keeping warm and toasty and safe....

Max - ....and before we leave we'd like to thank everypup for their help in Blueberry's Auction. It's so exciting - fabulous items are coming in every day for listing, pups are already bidding left, right and centre and everyone's doing a great job at getting the word out.

JD - Thank you all SO much!

Max - And finally, here's a short video of us on the beach earlier with FH.

JD - Even though it was near blizzard conditions she still insisted that we carry out agilities - can you believe that?! She's a slave driver!!

Bye bye snow - we had some good times together!

JD - Hi everyone! Our humans have been really busy NOT BLOGGING for us again....

Max - ....and they're covering this unacceptable behaviour up with the flimsy excuse of 'going to work' or some such nonsense - humph!

JD - And then tomorrow they're gadding off AGAIN to London to see another show! They're going to see Cirque due Soliel - female human is very excited, she's wanted to go for years apparently - sigh!

Max - We are sad to report that our snow has finally departed, it's just rain now - boo!

JD - We LOVED the snow, ooh, it was SO much fun! So here are some photos of us having loads of fun before everything simply became grey and damp - enjoy!!

This is our garden after a fresh flurry of snow - isn't it pretty?

And here we are making fresh paw-prints in all that fresh snow - ooh, it felt good!

JD - "Wheeeee! Snow is FUN!!"

JD - "Eh? Whassat Max? You say I've got something on my woozle?"

JD - "Well, you're one to talk! And look at all those ice balls you've got on your legs too! Brrrr!"

JD - "Nom, nom, nom! Mmmm - snow is SO yummy!"
Max - "What does it taste like JD?"

JD - *Chew! Chew!* "Well, it's sort of tingly and cold but everso refreshing - yummy! You should give it a go Max - it really is a good vintage this year, he he!"

Max - "What you looking at?!"

Max - "Yes, I am aware that I have one or two flakes on my nose - what of it?!"

Max tries the old favourite 'snow dunk'!

JD and Max - "Our humans make sure we still got our walks during this snowy time. This is female human gingerly making her way down our street with us. Note the very daft hat she is wearing - and the fact that she made us wear our coats!"

Gotta run, gotta run!

JD and Max - "Yayyyy - we can see the sea!! Here we come sea - look out!"

JD - "I say female human - that wind whipping off the North Sea is somewhat bracing you know!"

A puppy against the elements! Max looks out over the North Sea. (This is one of female human's favourite snow photos - she thinks it looks like 'puppy versus nature'!)

How to relax during the Winter.....!

JD - We've been told that the snow is due to last until well into next week - yayyy!

Max - We've really been enjoying it - as you could see from our last post! We seem to be getting daily snowfalls here - it's unprecedented in this part of the UK!

JD - But having so much snow-fun is quite exhausting! So we've had to make sure that we schedule in enough snooze breaks!

Max - Indeed! So in between playing hard in the snow outside we've also made sure we've been doing plenty of this....

Dreaming of snow doggies.....

JD - .... and this...
. *Snuffle! Snuffle!*

Max - .... with a little bit of this....

Max - "*Yawn!* Where've you got to JD.....?"

JD - .... and just a wee bit of that....

Max - "Oh! THERE you are, snuggling against male human! Gosh you look comfy!!"

Max - .... not forgetting plenty of this....

JD perfects 'the sprawl' whilst Max snuggles up tight in a comfy corner of the sofa!

JD - .... and finishing up with plenty of this! (We dedicate this last photo for you, NSLM's Clive!! You mentioned previously that you didn't have any blankets - we think after looking at this photo you might want to put in a request - he he he! Yes - we ARE spoiled....!)

JD - (just before photo was taken....) "We're a wee bit chilly female human - do something about it will you, there's a good human!"
Max - (just after photo was taken.....) "Ahhhh - tucked in with some blankie snugness! Thanks female human - you're quite well trained now you know!!"

Let it SNOW!!

JD - Last night we heard it was going to snow again so we went to bed REALLY excited!

Max - This morning we RAN out into the garden - but it was completely lacking in ANY of the white stuff - sigh!

JD - We trudged round our morning walk with female human, feeling hard-done-by and dejected.

Max - Even the thought that male human was going to be spending the whole day with us didn't lift our spirits - we wanted snow and we wanted it NOW!!

JD - So female human drove off to work and we sadly settled down to snooze and dream of snow....sigh!

"Snuffle, snuffle - snow-doggies - snuffle - snow-fights....!"

Max - About an hour later male human woke us up and told us to go outside....

"Do we HAVE to male human? We were SO comfy just now.....!"

JD - ....we were really grumpy with him, until we saw this.....

"Oh wow, oh wow, oh WOW!"

Max - SNOW!! So here is our fabulous day, in pictures, all courtesy of male human!

*Sniff! Sniff!* "Oooh, it's really real - it's really here!"

"Rarr! RARRR! Let the games commence!!"

JD - "Can't catch me Max, mwahahaha!"
Max - "Wow JD - you're so fast you're almost a blur!"

"Snow is so yummy - soooo refreshing!!"

Max - "Er, JD - you seem to have a little something on your snooter.....!"

Max - "And then - the BLIZZARD started!!"

Max - "Er, JD - isn't that snow-bath a little chilly?!"

*Sniff! Sniff!* "This is great fun to dig in....!"

JD - "Some good sniffs over here Max...."
Max - "Same over here JD, same over here!"

JD and Max survey their snowy domain!

The snow started falling SO fast that it even started to settle on Max!

"Can you spot our cute schnauzer-tooshies!"

JD - "If I stand still for a short while I'll become the perfect snow-doggie judging by what's landing on my back!"

JD - "Hmmm, I think a cat might have wandered through here at some point...!"

JD - "No male human, my paws are NOT getting cold and I DON'T want to come in just yet, thank you for asking....!"

"What d'ya mean it's about time we came in 'cos night's falling?! We're afraid we simply don't understand!"

"GERONIMOOOOOOO!"

JD - It's been the longest cold snap in the UK for 29 years - wowzers!

Max - Although we love the snow we do realise it can be dangerous - some place in the UK are due to hit minus 18 degrees tonight - brrrrr!

JD - We're currently wrapped up in blankets, asleep on female human's lap! So we'd just like to say to all our friends out there - where-ever you are we hope you are warm, snug and safe!

Max - Yup - wrap up warm and take care. Night night.....!

Christmas - Part 1!

JD - Hi everyone - we're sorry we haven't posted for a while....

We NEARLY had a white Christmas! This was our garden a few days before the big day - sadly, ALL the snow had melted by the time 25th December dawned - such a shame!

Max - ....we're afraid our humans have been extremely lazy recently doing things like sleeping and eating and entertaining friends and watching films and reading books and then eating some more!!

Male human gave us a chewy, squeaky Christmas Cracker toy on Christmas eve - we loved it! It had a great rope to chew on running through it - great fun!

JD - We're so sorry we haven't been to visit your blogs for a few days - sheesh - humans eh?!!

JD tries to shake his Christmas hat off - he wasn't really a fan!

Max - Still, we've been having a GREAT time! As the song says - 'we wish it could be Christmas EVERY DAY!!'

JD - Christmas Day was GREAT! We met up with loads of our pals at the park at 7.00 am- there were 8 humans and TWELVE doggies! We had SUCH a fun romp - we rarely manage to get together all at the same time you see!

Max - Well, the humans opened a few bottles of Bucks Fizz as they walked round and had a Christmas drink whilst us doggies played chase and bitey face together and investigated all the great sniffs!

JD - We don't have any photos of this memorable walk unfortunately, as the humans didn't have room for their flashy boxes with them because of the bottles and glasses they were all carrying - he he he! Still, as they said themselves - 'sometimes you have to experience the moment in the flesh (or fur!) instead of behind the lens of a flashy box' - or something like that at any rate!!

Female human came down with flu just before Christmas and was a bit poorly - she's only ever had flu once before and admits she moaned a LOT this time round, he he he! We looked after her by snuggling up on the sofa with her - judging by the goofy look on her face we obviously have healing paws! Hey - note Sparky's great picture on the sofa just behind - we're gonna blog about that soon....!

Max - Christmas has been SO much fun, our paws have barely touched the ground! We were far too young last year to have any idea what was going on - after all, back then we'd only lived with our new humans for a mere 6 days when Christmas Day arrived!

A fun snowman chew-toy from our pals Neo, Ellie and Stig!

JD - But this year we've enjoyed every second! So we thought we'd publish a few Christmas posts! Today's post is loads of photos of us opening some of our presents - wow, it was FUN! And guess what - today, even MORE parcels and cards turned up, so we'll post about these soon as we haven't had time to open them yet!

Us playing with a fun Snowman chew-toy - thanks Neo, Ellie and Stig, you're the best!

Max - We'd like to thank everyone for your Christmas wishes and Christmas cards and Christmas goodies - they've all meant so much. You're the best pals a couple of schnauzers could have!

Us investigating a huge pile of presents.....wow, some GREAT smells in here.....!

JD - We're very, very happy that we have made such great pals through blogging - we love you all!

Max - "Do you like our special Christmas stockings? Female human was everso excited when she bought us these - he he he!"

JD - "Oooh, another Christmas Stocking? From our mother-in-law you say? Ooh, it smells so good.....!"

JD - "Oh wow - a doggie treat cracker! I love our mother-in-law!"
Max - "I second that JD!!"

Max - "Hmmm, a very interesting looking box here from our pals Harry, Millie and Pretty Pippa! Wonder what's inside.....?"

Max - "Enough with the flashy box humans - open the present already!!"

JD - "Oh wow - a stuffie bone, a stuffie doggie, special treats for walkies and a big box of biscuits! Thank you Harry, Millie and Pretty Pippa - and your human the wonderful 'M', our treat lady of Holland Park!"

JD - "This is so exciting - we got a parcel on Christmas Eve from our pal Cobi who's from Singapore!"
Max - "We weren't allowed to open it until Christmas Day - posing with it and not being able to open it immediately was AGONY!!"

JD - "We finally got to open Cobi's present! Cobi sent us a keepsake box each - it is WONDERFUL!! Thank you SO much Cobi! We also love the salmon treats - super-yummy!"
Max - "Female human loved our keepsake boxes so much she cried a little! We'll make a clay paw-print each and display them with a photo of ourselves - when we've done this we'll blog about it and show you the end result. It's pawsome - we LOVE it! Thank you Cobi!!"

Max - And we hope you've all had as good a Christmas as we have!!

Max - "I love my new stuffie snake from the humans that hisses and also has bells in it - but I DO wish I didn't have to wear this hat.....sigh!"
