Poorly sick!

JD - We've had an awful few days - awful!

Max - We've had no Internet connection since Sunday evening so we haven't been able to visit our pals AND we've both been poorly sick!

Poorly boys crash out on the sofa!

JD - Bleurgh - you said it bro'!

Max - Poor JD has been suffering a little bit more than me. He started throwing up on Monday morning and it has - erm - well, now moved through to his other end! I have a sturdier constitution than my brother and although I threw up this morning that was about it for me.

JD - I feel dreadful - groan!

JD - "Oooh, my tummy hurts!"
Max - "Mine too bro' - oh woe is us!"

Max - I hate to see JD suffer alone so I've been keeping him company. We're doing a great dual 'woe is me' routine for the humans!

JD - Bleurgh!!

Max - I even persuaded FH to let him have a special teddy to cuddle to make him feel better! We think it worked as he had a real good sleep on the bear!

JD - "Snuffle, snuffle! Ahh, Miss Scarlett Bear sure helps a pup feel a bit better!"

JD - We're sorry we haven't visited you for a while - what with the Internet and the ickies we haven't had a chance!

Max - Before we leave today we'd like to alert you to three things! Firstly, please do go over to visit our pal Scottie as his little brother Kenji is ill and they're not too sure what's wrong, so please do visit him to send some positive vibes as we know this will help him to feel better.

JD - On a happier note our blog sweetheart Sasha - sigh, beautiful Sasha! - has a new little brother called Rupert! He's a rescue doggie and is really handsome - well, he IS a Schnauzer cross so it's hardly surprising! We know he'd love it if you could swing by to say hi and welcome him to the blogosphere!

Max - And finally our bestest bloggie pal in the whole World, Oskar, will be holding a fun game over the weekend called 'blog about your people day!' It's going to be great - you can get details by clicking on the icon below, but we've also copied a little narrative from Oskar's blog......

JD - What a great idea Oskar - we can't wait to play!

Max - We hope to catch up with your blogs over the next few days but please bear with us as FH is still having to look after us! She was up most of last night with JD and has spent a good part of today mopping and cleaning....

JD - Bleurgh!!!!!

Our secret beach!

Max - We have something to show you! Come on, come on - hurry up, it's this way!

JD - Are you sure Max? I thought it was THIS way?

Max - It's not up HERE JD....
JD - Hmmm, well, perhaps it's down here......

Max - This is what we want to show you! It's our secret beach! Most of the time it looks like the photo above - you wouldn't know there was anything there!

JD - But when the tide goes out - way, way out! - this little beach is revealed! Not many people or pups know about it - it's only there for about 2 hours each day, at different times, depending on the tides!

Max - We LOVE this little beach! Because it's usually covered by the sea when it IS revealed there are the most delightful sniffs to be had! Wonderfully fishy - ooh, you've got to smell it to believe it!!

JD - There's a particularly good sniff here Max - I do believe that a crab scuttled across this very spot not two seconds ago!!

Max - We love playing zoomies on this beach - both on the sandy bit as you can see above....

JD - ....and also on the seaweedy bit, as we demonstrate here!

Max - Playing zoomies or bitey face on seaweed adds a whole new dimension! It's very slippery you see - FH calls it 'eXtreme zoomies!' whenever we're running on the seaweed!

JD - A pup really has to keep his wits about him when he's running on seaweed! You can see the look of concentration on Max's face!

Max - eXtreme bitey face is SUCH good fun too!!

JD - Wheeeee! If I run down on the sand I can cut Max off and beat him to the slope, he he he!

Max - This little beach is sheltered so it's always calm, with interesting rocks scattered around. We like to explore the shallow water - there's always something interesting to look at!

JD - There are these weird floaty things that mark the shoreline to stop boats getting too close to the rocks. Max is a little scared of the way they bob around so he usually sends me in to investigate!

Max - My big brother IS very brave - not only does he not flinch when these strange round things bob about in a most alarming way, he also doesn't mind getting his paws wet as he wades right up to it!!

JD - Max doesn't mind paddling but he draws the line at swimming! I LOVE swimming and plan to show a video of my athletic prowess very soon! In the meantime here is a snap of me doing my 'loch ness monster' impression with my tail, he he he!

Max - We hope you enjoyed visiting our secret beach with us! It's one of our favourite places to walk and we're alway very disappointed when it's covered by the sea!


JD - I'm going to leave you with a photo of me and my amazing eyebrows! I've been cultivating them recently - what do you think?!!

(Almost!) Wordless Wednesday - Beach Bums!

(FH says there's something about this photo of us that she just loves! She thinks it sums up the 'endless, enjoyable days of summer'. Something about the wistful way we're looking back at the sea and the emptiness and tranquillity of the beach.

In reality the beach is empty because this photo was taken at approximately 4.45 am one morning - FH is taking us out for a nice long walk extra early at the moment because the days are getting SO hot. Although this photo shows just the two of us we're nevertheless delighted that we still meet up with pals at this time of the morning - lots of like-minded doggie owners 'out-and-about' helping their hounds keep cool with an early walk!)

A parcel from Ireland!

JD - Yesterday something very exciting happened!

Max - The postman delivered a parcel to our house! It had come from Ireland and we were sure we could smell traces of Labradoodle on it!! We saw our names on it so JD decided to pose with it and then we thought we'd enjoy opening it....

JD - "Ooh, it's all so exciting!"

JD - ....but then FH said that the parcel was for HER?! Eh?! What?! We were convinced Clive and his NSLM had sent this parcel to US!!

Max - Yeah! Whatchu talkin' 'bout FH?! We definately saw OUR names on the envelope!

JD - But apparently the parcel was addressed to 'JD and Max's MOM'!! Well!!!

Max - So we begrudgingly - er, we mean - delightedly let her open it!

JD - And there were lots of squeals from FH whilst she took out LOADS of goodies! It had indeed come from Cive, Murray and Sorcha! There was a really cool card of Clive and his NSLM - we loved having our photo taken with the two of them!

Max - "Take my right side please FH - it's my most pleasing profile and I want to look good next to Clive and Murray!"

Max - Then FH pulled out this really cool pink t-shirt - FH tried it on immediately and we were more than happy to pose for a photo with her!

JD - The t-shirt is really funny - here's a close up of the picture on it! Thank you so much Clive, Murray and Sorcha - FH loves it and it's a perfect fit!

Mind you, at the moment we think it's sunny in Ireland, just like it is here!!

Max - Of course, Murray and Sorcha insisted that we get sent a pressie each too! We both got a cool rope bone each....

JD - "Ooooh, I DO love a good rope bone!"

Max - "Me too bro', me too!"

Max - "Just a sec' though bro', I just want to check that YOUR rope bone is not better than MY rope bone.....!"

Max - " ....okay, check completed! It's the same rope bone, I'll go back to MY rope bone now then, he he he!"

JD - [Muttering through gritted teeth!] "Oh brother!"

Max - "Oooh, what are these that have just been put on the floor? *Sniff, sniff!* Hmm, think I prefer my rope bone....!"

JD - There was also a pair of pink 'Irish' flip-flops. As FH has what she calls 'runners feet' she said that she wouldn't take of photo of her feet in them - trust me, it's not a sight you'd want to see, he he he!

Max - We know that FH needed a new pair of flip-flops for the gym (changing room and sauna - not to train in, he he he!) so she's thrilled with these - how did you know?!

JD - There was also something in the package that we were mesmerised by!

JD - "Oooh, something swinging back and forth, baaaack and fooorth....I'm feeling strangely captivated....!"

Max - "I am ready to do the human's bidding!"

Max - It's something that is called a 'lanyard' and it's for mobile phones and keys, the kind of stuff that FH is always mislaying first thing in the morning before she dashes off to work.

JD - GREAT choice of gift Clive, Murray and Sorcha - perhaps FH can get herself slightly organised now!!

Max - "Gimme!!!"

JD - Thank you SO much Clive, Murray and Sorcha for all our gifts - we love our new toys and FH loves her goodies!

FH - Yes indeed - thank you! I was quite taken aback by this wonderful surprise, it was so unexpected! I loved it - you are such wonderful and generous friends!
