Happy New Year!!

JD - We've been meaning to do this post for a few days now...

Max - ....but FH went and got something called 'flew' and O-M-D the FUSS she's been making!

JD - We'd have thought she would like having this 'flew' thing and would enjoy being able to float around and fly here and there, but ALL she's been doing is moaning and whinging and lying in bed - she's SO lazy!

Max - So we've been having fun with MH - all boys together! He's been taking us on our daily walkies and has been giving us our food and has been really generous with our treats....

JD - ....and now we're starting to wonder what it is that we actually need FH for - he he he!

JD gives one of his new Christmas stuffies a piggy back ride!

Max - But now we know! FH is getting better and is now out of bed and now WE'RE poorly with very bad tummies! Me especially - I've been barfing for a whole day now....bleurgh!

JD - Well, I'VE been a bit icky too - bleurgh!

Max - So now we're glad we've got FH back in action as, you know, she's REALLY good at clearing up after us, much better than MH apparently - well, according to us and MH anyway!

JD - So you see FH, we really HAVE missed you and we think we did well to hold off being poorly ourselves until you were well enough to take care of us - we're good like that!

Max - Anyway, we're finally going to show you a video of us opening the Christmas pressie that we got from FH and MH - we apologise in advance for FH's constant squeaking during it!

JD - And yes, you DID notice correctly that our pressie was wrapped in newspaper! We so enjoy tearing the wrappings off a gift that FH and MH now just wrap the majority of our pressies in newspaper - they claim they're saving the planet....

Max - ....but we know they're just tight, he he he!

JD - But regardless of our stingy humans we LOVE our new giant octopus - he's fab and REAL fun and VERY noisy. FH didn't realise quite HOW noisy he was when she got him for us - ha!

We show off Olly - he is totally COOL!

Max - However, even our fabulous new giant stuffie wasn't our main Christmas pressie!

JD - We're still so excited that we can hardly begin to tell you what it was that we got for Christmas!

Max - You see, our gift was the culmination of 2 years hard graft!

JD - Yes indeedy! After 2 years of living with our humans, of training them on a daily basis, of constant tutoring and patient guidance we have finally - FINALLY - got our humans well behaved enough to allow them to sleep in the same room as us!

Max - This is something we've been wanting to do since we first arrived here on the 19th December 2008, but we knew that the humans were FAR from ready!

JD - It has been a labour of love but they finally got there - we never lost hope!

FH - I'd just like to say that I've wanted the boys to sleep in the same room as us for a while but it's taken us a long time to get the house suitable as well as getting the boys comfortable enough with it. JD likes to sleep in his bed by the side of our bed - I now often wake up to JD staring at me - he's a good boy and waits for permission to hop up on the bed for a cuddle. Max likes to sleep at the foot of the bed draped across any convenient foot, which is especially nice at this cold time of year! Before they were allowed in the bedroom I'd been getting up at 5.30 am every single day as they used to make such a racket at that time . I now realise I have a couple of dogs who are very happy to sleep in and on Christmas Day I was treated to a lie-in until 8.00 am which was absolutely wonderful! So I'm pretty over the moon about this situation too!

Max - Okay FH, enough of the 'blah blah' - this is OUR blog we think you'll find!

No real reason for this photo except that FH really likes it - and we think our tails look pretty nifty too!

JD - We hope that everyone had a happy new year! Unfortunately FH was too poorly to enjoy it and says that we're going to celebrate next weekend instead!

Max - We think that means she's going to open some bubbly and wear something other than sweats with dog-slobber on....

JD - ....which means she'll expect us to be on our best behaviour - sigh!!

Olly the Octopus is quite nice - lots of legs for a great game of tug. Congrats on a wonderful pressie.

As for the bedroom situation, we don't know how you did it. It has been way more than two years for TD and Phantom, and we still don't get to let the humans sleep with us:( We will have to work on that this year.

Happy New Year to all of you - may 2011 bring you all good health, happiness, and lots of new and fun adventures.

Awesome, awesome octopus. We hope you're feeling better very soon!

Letting them have a lie in is a great reward for FINALLY learning where you should be sleeping. Well Done, boys.

Holy Cat Feathers! That stuffie is magnificent! You are two very lucky schnauzers!

It must have been contagious. Mom and Dad were sick New Year's Eve and Day with bad colds. We are so glad they recovered in time for us to have our first hike of the season today. I'm glad FH is feeling better!

I am SO glad that Treat had trained Mom and Dad about bed manners before I came home. I slept in the bed with them from day one! Whew!

We wish you a very Happy New Year! JD, Morgan says she wishes she could have planted a kiss on you at midnight.

Gosh, those tails, my uncie and mum shaves mine - but look what it COULD be!! Wow! My mum reckons the best thing she did was to put my bed into her bedroom because I sleep in to about 8 or 9am as well! We watched the video together and I loved the octopus and am wondering where MINE is!! I don't think you have a squeaky voice FH! Glad you're all better and have a Happy New Year EVERYONE!! Tail Wuggles, Rubie.

Happy New Year to you too, JD and Max!! I'm glad you're being allowed to sleep in your parent's bedroom. I always sleep in the same room with my mom. When I was a baby, she thought we could sleep apart, but I made such a HUGE fuss, that she learned her lesson fast. The next night, I slept with her in the big bed, and slept like a baby. That's the way it should be!

That was not the best way to start the new year, wasn't it? Glad that you're all getting better now.

We've enjoyed watching you two unwrapping your present. Next time, we'll unwrap all our presents instead of the humans doing that for us!

Wishing all of you a great year ahead!

Happy New Year, my dear furends!

Oh, I am so very sorry that your FH has been poorly and that you got sick, too. It's no fun being sickies but ESPECIALLY at the howlidays. I hope everybuddy gets all better soon.

And WOW! That octopus was one super pawsome pressie! I luved watching you rrrrrriiiippppp that paper. Heehee! That is a Most Terrific talent you have. And I likes your FH's squeaking. I think it's kind of relaxing, actually.

And DOUBLE WOW that you finally lets your humans sleep with you! I know that took a lotta hard work and I bet that was the best pressie your humans ever got in their whole lives. Way to go, boys!

Wiggles & Wags,
Mayzie

PeeS. I also wanted to tell you how much I luvs your tails. You prolly know that schnauzers here don't have tails which I think is very sad. I dunno why anybuddy would want to cut 'em off. I mean, your tails are Most Magnificent!

Hi! We just started our own blog, and we’re trying to visit every blog at Pet Blogs United. So far we’re on the S’s! We are glad to know that your human is all better and that she will take care of your tummies. We sleep in our Mama's bed with her. Our mama is very well behaved, luckily, so she can have us with her in the bed, even though it is a very small bed for all of us to squish into! Lily tries to make extra room by sleeping right ON TOP of our Mama! :)

Oh I heard that Squeek and was right up front with my mombean watching this!! That is one big Olly! Nice to share...

We are sooo SAD that your lovely FH was ill. She is much to sweet to be in this way...(tears)

We aren't going to be posting..but we will continue to visit you..and write your FH...you are much to special to us!!

Huggles and snuggles..

Happy New Year, JD & Max! So sorry to read of so much illness in your house. Hope you're all better now. You don't suppose the extra lavish treats from MH while FH was ill had anything to do with your gyppy tummies, do you? Nah.. BTW, loved the polka dot robe with the plaid pj's!

Does Olly still have 8 legs? He'd be flat Olly if he lived with us, so it's just as well Santa Paws brought him to your house. Mama is afraid to wrap our pressies in newsprint because Abby still has "issues" with ripping up newspapers mama hasn't actually read yet. Something about reinforcing bad habits.

Mazel tov on finally getting your humans bed trained! It's a tough job, but so rewarding when the little dears finally master a new skill. We have our own beds in almost every room in the house, including the bedroom. And when Abby is scared or ill or just feels like it, she hops up on mama's bed and S-P-R-E-A-D-S out so she takes up half the bed. Not a side of the bed, which would be workable, but the whole bottom of the bed. Abby's thinking is that mama enjoys - or at least learns from - the experience of trying to squish herself into just the top half of the bed. Jed gets a little tired of hearing "Abby MOVE" all night long, but it doesn't bother Abby.

Haha, Archie ALWAYS has slept in my room, since I got him.

He has his own bed up on a chair next to my bed (I found that if I left him on the floor, about 3am he'd get up and jump on the bed anyway, waking me & my boyfriend up!) On the chair, he must feel like he's already on the bed.

He is spoilt rotten!!!

JD & Max's octopus looks like lots of fun, I think Archie would love a play with it!
