JD - We're 6 months old today!
Max - It's been very exciting so far....
JD - We were taken on an extra-long walk this morning. Our humans had even arranged for there to be no fog as a special treat - we're not quite sure how they managed that to be honest, but we were very impressed!
Max - We watched the sunrise over the North Sea - it was very pretty...
JD - ....then when we got home we started getting presents!
Max - I've finally got my sofa! I'm not sure where I'd like it put yet so it's out in the conservatory whilst I make up my mind, but here's a picture of me modelling it. I've already put my favourite cushion in it to make it extra comfy. I like it - it's bigger than JD's sofa - ha!
JD - Oh goody - that means there's room for me to snuggle in too.....
Max - Yes, you believe that if you want to JD....!
JD - And although it's not exactly a present for us, our human's have treated themselves to some extra-posh doggie-gates. They ARE rather grand...
Max - We've already placed our vet-bed blanket by the doggie-gate door so that we can wait for our humans in complete comfort....
JD - These new doggie gates mean that we now have extra room in the lounge which is brilliant. Our domain is getting bigger all the time - as it should!
Max - After we had supervised the erection of the new gates - to make sure that they had been installed to our satisfaction - we played a bit of football in the garden whilst our humans prepared some other surprises for us....
JD - When we got back into the kitchen we found a lovely, big new doggie bed....
Max - We love our old doggie bed, but it's a bit small for us now....
JD - Plus now that we're old and mature we realise that we probably shouldn't have used it as a teething aid when we were very young puppies as sadly it's a bit holey as a result!
Max - Look how lovely and snug our new bed is! And it had two new toys in it....
JD - We like them, they're really chewy!
Max - Then, after we'd had a good play with our new toys we had a special lunch....
JD - Our female human had prepared some birthday biscuits for us....
Max - They were yummy!!
JD - After lunch the in-laws came to visit us....
Max - ....we're such adorable puppies that they simply couldn't stay away on our birthday.
JD - It was fun! We got fussed and we showed off all our new stuff - they were really impressed!
Max - We like birthdays! Do you think we can we have another one soon JD?
JD - I can't see why not Max....!

Oh, happy birthday boys! You both seems quite mature.
Now I'm almost 4 so I'm very wise. If you ever have any questions I'd be glad to help.
I have to add that I'm terribly jealous of your tails. My mom person came to pick me out when I was only one day old & they had alread cut off my tail, so I only have a nubbin. She didn't let them cut up my ears though!
Thanks Oskar - we have already found your blog a great source of wisdom in the ways of the Schnauzer, but we will certainly ask you if there's anything specific we need to know surrounding the topics of devil squirrels, digging, baths, sleeping, eating, looking sad, sulking - and other equally important and essential subjects like that.
We're very proud of our tails. We're due to have our first proper haircut in a few weeks time - it's been really cold in the UK so we were advised to keep our 'baby coats' until we were 6 months old. So now that we're all mature and grown up we're going to have a real Schnauzer clip - we intend to keep the fur on our tails long though as we love the way it waves and flaps in the breeze!
Seniding tail wags your way - JD and Max.
Oh...partied too hardy...
Happy 6 Month Birthday.
Looks like you had a great bash.
Love Ruby & Penny
I love seeing other Schnauzers with tails! I don't feel so alone any more.
