We're back! Plus Bertie's visit to Edinburgh!!

JD - Hi everyone - we're back!

Max - Yup! After all, our humans only went on what is generally called a 'long weekend', so we didn't actually get THAT much time away from them....sigh!

JD - We really enjoyed the kennels though. When our humans turned up earlier today to collect us we were playing in the yard with one of the kennel hands - such a GREAT game of tug that we didn't even notice them....

Max - ....and then we thought it was the kennel owner ONLY who had appeared, so we went running excitedly to her for a cuddle....

JD - ....and it was only after she had fussed us that we suddenly became aware of our humans, so we thought we'd better go over and say hello to them too!

Max - So basically our humans are now very assured that we had a good time and had thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! It IS good to be back home mind you....

JD - ....even though we are now very, very tired from the excitement of our short sabbatical....!

Max and JD enjoy a welcome home snooze!

Max - As soon as we got back home we went to check that our toys, our beds and our treat jar were still all present and correct....

JD - ....and were relieved to discover they all are!

Max - So now - just before we settle down for a full-length snooze in our OWN bed we would like to introduce you to Bertie....

Bertie poses in the hotel room!

JD - ....isn't he cute?! He's a tiny miniature schnauzer toy and we named him after Bertie from Bertie and Oliver fame, as his distinguished countenance reminds us a little bit of him - he he he!

Max - Our humans got Bertie because they thought it would be fun to take him with them to places that we can't visit. That way, Bertie can appear in photos instead of us!!

JD - So, whilst we enjoy our first comfy sleep back home we hope you enjoy a few photos that our humans took of Bertie in Edinburgh, Scotland....

Bertie in front of the Political Martyrs' Monument.

Bertie takes a stroll in front of the Scott Monument!

Bertie just about makes the picture of Arthur's Seat....

....so he asks for a second photo to get his good side!

....and then takes a step back to accommodate a lovely panoramic view of one of Edinburgh's skyline!

Bertie poses in front of Edinburgh Castle - such a amazing building!

Max - ....um, we apologise for some of the photos being a bit fuzzy - the camera focused on Bertie and blurred the background, he he he!!

Wow! Edinburgh seems so neat! I'd love to go there... I mean, I'd better stay home. I still feel the trip from Brazil to Luxembourg was too much!

Hi guysm,welcome back!

Your mommy is so brill getting a travel schnauzer; what a wonderful idea.

We're so happy to hear you had such a wonderful time at the kennels. Nice to know your parents take such good care of the two of you by giving you both a holiday as well.

Our mommy enjoyed the pics from Scotland and we enjoyed getting to know Bertie.

My mom person kept muttering something about the U.S. being new & not having any cool castles.

I am so glad you're back. The blogosphere is just not the same without you.

Hi boys!

I'm glad you enjoyed your holiday away from your humans - we all need a little break sometimes - but it's probably just as well you're back to supervise them now, you know how they need it!

And what a good way of making sure they had a schnauzer to keep an eye on them while you were away - I'm sure you were able to enjoy your holiday all the more, knowing they were under Bertie's watchful eye.

Hey, It sounds like Bertie had so much fun in Edinburgh! How about your guys?! How have you been doing?

I'm stopping by to tell you there's an award for you in Sixteen Paws, if you're good at food stealing. ;)

Take care boys! Much love from Brazil!

Wow, that Bertie sure gets around. Hopefully not too much cuz that would mean your humans will have to leave again. Glad you had fun at the kennel & welcome back to the blog!
your pal,

Welcome back, boys! And hey - what a COOL idea to have Bertie act as your "stand-in"...although I have to say, I don't think he is half was adorable as you two!
Gosh, if my humans tried to take a stand-in for me on their travels, they'd always be paying excess baggage!!

Glad to hear that you enjoyed your first stay at kennels - it sounds like they thoroughly spoiled you there!! :-)

Awwwww~~

Bertie is so cuteeeeeee!

Mommy had a shcnuazer plush too in the car. It reminds her to think of US & drive carefully when we are not by her side.

Also, she has another big schnauzer plush where she cuddles to sleep becoz sometimes, we prefers to sleep on our OWN BED instead of sharing hers! Hehe^^
